The system codes determine logic to be followed in various parts of the system and we wouldn't be able to predict the consequences of their removal so they can not be deleted.
You can of course re-name them but this might not make sense, so proceed with caution, and reach out to your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager if you would like further guidance.
