Attributes Merge - Release Notes - FY25 Q3

The new Merge Suite functionality allows users to Merge Attributes. Designed to enable customers to safely and efficiently move and restructure Attributes data in bulk. Empowers users to manage their data independently and with greater ease.

Merge Suite - Attributes

When the users with the Permission to use the Merge Suite navigate to Tools ; Merge Suite, a new option called Attributes is visible.

On clicking that If there is a Merge already in progress for any Type a message is displayed that reads, Merge already in progress. Please try again later. with an Ok button that when clicked closes the message box.

If not, an Attributes Merge wizard appears with the following 4 steps:

  • User Agreement

    • Displays the standard User Agreement text and the user cannot proceed to the next step without clicking the tick box

  • Select Attribute

  • Confirmation

  • Results

  • On navigating to Step 2: Select Attribute, the following fields appear:

    • Select Attribute

      • It is a required field

      • Contains a search button

      • On clicking the search button, an Attributes window (Displays Master Attributes from Options ; Manager ; General ; Attributes Maintenance) appears with the following 2 columns:

  • Attribute Master which displays the Master Attributes list

    • It displays tree view with chevron buttons that on clicked displays the sub folders (if any)

    • It is a scrollable list

  • Attributes

    • Displays a search bar that allows the user to search by Attribute description or Notes

    • Below the search bar, it displays a scrollable list view of child Attributes under the master attribute

    • Below the Attributes list it displays a section for Attribute Notes (displays Attributes notes if added)

Only Attributes assigned to Sectors that that the user is logged into appearsOnce an attribute is selected, the following field is enabled in step 2:

  • Merge Into

    • It is a required field

    • Contains a search button to open up picklist called Attributes which displays a list of Attributes that:

      • have the same parent Master Attribute as the Attribute selected above AND

      • are Attributes assigned to Sectors that the User is logged into

    • The picklist displays a search bar that allows the user to search by Attribute description or Notes

    • It contains 2 columns:

      • Description

        • Displays Attributes from Options ; Manager ; General ; Attributes Maintenance ; selected master attributes ; child attribute Description

        • The list is arranged alphabetically

      • Notes

        • Displays Attributes from Options ; Manager ; General ; Attributes Maintenance ; selected master attributes ; child attribute Notes if added

    • If a user selects same Attribute as in Select Attribute picklist an Error box appears: You cannot select the same Attribute value to Merge. with an Ok button that when clicked closes the message box

If a user deletes the selected Attribute, the Merge Into Values are cleared (if added)There is a <>bNext button that is only enabled if:

  • Valid Attributes are selected in Select Attribute and Merge Into picklist


Step 3 : Confirmation

  • On clicking Next button the user is navigated to Step 3 : Confirmation

  • The text appears: Merge '<Attribute selected in Picklist 1 in step 2> into <Attribute selected in Picklist 2 in step 2> Attribute and delete <Attribute selected in Picklist 1 in step 2>?

  • A Previous and Start Merge buttons are visible

  • Clicking on Previous navigates the user to step 2

  • Clicking on Start Merge starts the Merge and the user remains on this step which now displays a loading page

    • Loading Page:

      • The text appears that reads, Attribute Merge is in progress. Do not refresh or close this wizard.

  • Any record that contained the original Attribute is now replaced with the newly selected Attribute value.

    • The original Attribute Notes (If added) are also deleted. So for example, if the user merges ISEB foundation into DPM Apprentice child attribute, it will delete ISEB foundation attribute & notes and keep DPM Apprentice attribute & notes

  • When the merge is complete, the user is navigated to Step 4

    • The Original Attribute no longer exists under Options ; Manager ; General ; Attributes Maintenance ; Master Attribute > Attributes


Step 4 : Results

  • Displays the text:

  • Attribute Merge is complete. The Attribute '<Selected original Attribute Description>' is now removed.

  • If the Merging fails, the text reads:

    • Attribute Merge failed. Please try again.

  • There is a Close button that on clicked, closes the wizard.
