What’s new?

We've added a new Merge Suite functionality that allows users to merge a specific Attribute Master. It is designed to enable customers to safely and efficiently move and restructure Attribute Master data in bulk. This tool empowers users with the correct permissions to manage their data independently and with greater ease.

How do I start using it?

Menu Option

  • The option can be found within the menu structure of Tools ; Merge Suite ; Attribute Master.

  • Please keep in mind that Attribute Master Merge is based on the following permission: Permission to use the Merge Suite is added in the user’s role.

Tools ; Merge Suite ; Attribute Master

Attribute Master

  • By clicking on Attribute Master a pop-up window will appear.

  • If a merge is already in progress for any type, the wizard will not open. Instead, a message will appear saying, 'Merge already in progress. Please try again later.' The message will have an OK button that, when clicked, will close the message.

Attribute Master Merge 1 - User Agreement

  • The first screen of the pop-up is the User Agreement. In order to proceed further the tickbox needs to be checked. By checking the box, it is acknowledged that the Attribute Master Merge tool is used at one's own risk. The Access Group cannot be held responsible for any data loss or system issues resulting from its use.

Attribute Master Merge 2 - Select Attribute Master

  • The second screen is the Select Attribute Master one. There are two required fields, in the first one we are able to select the Attribute Master and in the second one we are able to choose the Attribute Master we want to merge the first one into.

  • In the Merge Pop-up, there is also a checkbox below the 'Merge into' field, labelled 'Merge with existing Attribute Master sectors.' If this box is checked, the new Master will take over the sectors from the old Master. If it is left unchecked, the new Master's sectors will stay the same (which is the default setting).

  • The grades from the old Master will be carried over and added to the new Master.

  • The other settings of the new Master will remain unchanged.

  • Children that had the old Master as their parent will now have the new Master instead.

  • Children Attributes with different sectors than the Parent Attributes will take over the new Master Attribute sectors.

  • If the user selects the same Attribute Master, an error pop-up will appear at the top of the screen saying, 'You cannot select the same Attribute Master to Merge.' Clicking the Ok button will close the message box.

Attribute Master Merge 3 - Confirmation

  • The third screen is the confirmation screen. In order to proceed to the Result click Start Merge, in order to change the sources, click Previous.

Attribute Master Merge 4 - Results

  • The fourth screen is the Results screen, confirming that the Attribute Master Merge is completed successfully.

  • Click Close to close the window.
