Working From field on Jobs and Placements

What's New?

What Are the Options?

  • For a user with access to the List of Values lists, there is now a list for Working from, with five standard options added:

    • Office - Working from a company office location.

    • Remote - Working from home or another remote location.

    • Hybrid - A mix of office and remote working.

    • Specialized Facilities - Working from specialized locations (e.g., labs, studios, factories).

    • Flexible Arrangement - Adaptable working arrangements.

  • The standard list can be managed fully, by either renaming, deleting or adding additional Working from options in the usual way.

Applicant and Client Notice Periods on Contract Jobs

What's New?

  • We've added two new fields to Contract Jobs that let you record notice period requirements from both clients and applicants. This helps you manage contract assignments more effectively and stay on top of contractual obligations.

The New Fields

  • Notice Period from Client

    • This field captures how much notice the client needs to give to end or change the contract.

  • Notice Period from Applicant

    • This field captures how much notice the worker needs to give to end or change the contract.

  • Both fields:

    • Are free text (you can enter whatever format makes sense).

    • Allow up to 10 characters.

    • Are optional (you can leave them blank).

    • Work in both standard edit and quick in-line edit modes.

Where You'll Find Them

  • On the Contract Job Details tab

    • When viewing or editing existing Contract Jobs:

      • In the Details tab, there are the two new fields.

      • If you use Projects, they appear below the Project field, otherwise, they appear below Work Address."

Notice period field

When creating a new Contract Job

  • Click New to create a Contract Job.

  • Go to the Details tab.

  • Enter the notice periods if you know them (or leave blank to add later).

What You Can Enter

  • You can enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters - whatever format works for you, e.g.:

    • "1 week"

    • "2 weeks"

    • "14 days"

    • "1 month"

    • "30 days"

    • "Immediate"

Using Table View

  • You can add both notice period fields as columns in your Contract Jobs table view for easy reference.

  • These columns aren't part of the default view. If you click "Restore Defaults", you'll need to add them again.

Exporting Data

  • When you export Contract Jobs from table view, any notice period columns you've added will be included in your export file.

Copying Jobs

  • When you copy a Contract Job, both notice period fields are automatically copied to the new job.

  • This works when you:

    • Use Copy Job from the 3-dot menu in Scheduling 2.0.

    • Use Copy the Current Job from the Actions menu in Jobs.

    • If the original job has notice periods filled in, they'll appear in the new job. If they're blank, the new job will also have blank fields.

Applicant and Client Notice Periods on Placements

What's New?

  • Contract Placements now automatically inherit notice period information from their associated jobs. When you create a new placement or extend an existing one, the notice period details copy across automatically, saving you time and ensuring consistency.

How It Works

  • Creating New Contract Placements

    • When you manually create a new Contract Placement and select a job, the system automatically copies both notice period fields from the job to the placement.

    • If the job is then removed prior to the placement being saved, the notice period settings will be remain on the placement.

  • Where to create manually:

    • Placements ; Contract Placements ; New.

    • Extending Contract Placements.

    • Placing Applicants to Create Placements.

  • Viewing Notice Periods on Placements

    • Once a placement is created, you can view the notice period information in the Contract Info tab of the placement record.

  • Using Table View

    • You can add both notice period fields as columns in your Contract Placements table view for quick reference across multiple placements.

    • These columns aren't part of the default view. If you click Restore Defaults, you'll need to add them again.

  • Exporting Data

    • When you export Contract Placements from table view, any notice period columns you've added will be included in your export file.
