Overview
This release makes it quicker and easier to manage candidate references in ARCRM. You can now create and link reference requests, attach supporting documents, select or add referees, and set follow-up tasks â all directly from the reference screen, without switching between different areas of the system.
These changes bring the reference workflow in line with the experience you may already know from RDB, while adding some new capabilities of its own.
Whatâs New
Reference Requests, Linked in One Place
Where to find it: Applicant ; Work History ; References ; Reference form (Reference Request & Document section).
Create a reference request directly from the reference screen by choosing from your organisationâs saved reference templates â no need to leave the form to set it up.
The new request is automatically linked to the applicant, the client from the work history record, and the referee youâve selected, so all the relevant context travels with it.
Once created, the request is shown against the reference record, and a preview icon lets you open and edit it at any time using the built-in document editor.
View or open the linked request at any time with a single click.
Clear a linked request and link a different one if your plans change â the previous request is not deleted, only unlinked.
Note: your organisation will need to set up its own reference templates before this feature can be used.
Link Reference Documents Instantly
Where to find it: Applicant ; Work History ; References ; Reference form (Reference Request & Document section).
Search for and attach a document thatâs already stored against the applicant record, directly from within the reference form.
View any linked document, and make changes to it using the built-in document editor, without leaving the reference screen.
Swap a linked document for a different one, or clear it altogether, at any time.
New: upload a document straight from your device while completing the reference, saving you the separate step of storing it against the applicant first and then coming back to link it.
Choose or Add a Referee in Seconds
Where to find it: Applicant ; Work History ; References ; Reference form (Referee section).
Choose whether the referee is a Client Contact or a Person from your organisationâs wider contact list (the Person option only appears if this feature is enabled for your organisation).
Search and select from a picklist showing key details such as name, surname, email and phone number, so you can quickly confirm youâve picked the right person.
Client Contact referees are filtered to the client on the work history record, including any related companies in the same organisational group.
View a refereeâs key details â name, title, company, phone and email â in a quick preview panel, without leaving the reference form, and open their full record if you need more detail.
If the referee isnât already in the system, add them as a brand-new contact or person on the spot; once saved, theyâre automatically selected as the referee.
Keep Track with Reference Tasks
Where to find it: Applicant ; Work History ; References ; Reference form (Tasks section).
Create a follow-up task directly from a reference to remind yourself, or a colleague, to chase progress â replacing the old task display, which could be difficult to read.
The task automatically links to the applicant, the client and placement from the work history record, and the referee youâve selected, so all the context travels with it.
The reference form shows the subject of the linked task at a glance, so you can see whatâs outstanding without opening it.
Unlink a task from a reference at any point without deleting the task itself â you can then add a new one in its place if needed.
Note: this option is only available if your role allows you to create tasks.
How to Get Started
This update is included automatically in your next Access Recruitment CRM release â no action is required from your team.
If your organisation does not have the Persons feature enabled, you will only see the Client Contact options when choosing a referee; everything else described above works the same way. If you have any questions about the new reference workflow, please contact your Access Group account manager.
